Efficacy of Forest-Thermal Combined Therapy for Anxiety and Stress among Smoking-Cessation Attempters

Purpose: Smoking is a way of coping with anxiety and stress. This study aimed to identify the effects forest-thermal combined therapy on depression in smokers who desire quit smoking. Methods: Thirty participants were included study, 15 experimental group control group. Those participated three-day program. The program includes forest walks, meditation thermal charcoal kiln. Results: Before after program, physiological indicators such as cortisol, heart rate variability, serotonin level using state-trait inventory (STAI), stress psychosocial well-being index (PWI) measured both groups. differences STAI (p=.012) PWI (p=.006) scores between groups statistically significant. However, not significantly different two Conclusion: These results show that combination effectively reduces smokers. It suggests can potentially increase smoking cessation rates.
